It is a unique names of websites on the Internet with a specific, multi-level structure.
Usually a domain name consists of TLD (Top level domain) and 2LD (second level domain). For example, .com .gov .fun .io are all TLDs.
The second level refers to what is to the left of the TLD, i.e. google, timthewebmaster, yandex, bing.
There may also be 3LD, i.e. even more clarification, for example google.co.uk. Here google is already 3LD, .co is 2LD and .uk is TLD
